The Las Vegas Raiders need a win against the Chiefs, but the deck might already be stacked against them. This comes after it was revealed that a particular referee will be working the game between the division rivals—a referee who has a history of calling roughing-the-passer penalties on opposing defenses and protecting big-time quarterbacks.
"This game was circled by the NFL, and you want to know what their reaction was? It was to put Adrian Hill as a referee on this game when the time came," said The Ringers Warren Sharp. "You know what Adrian Hill leads the NFL in? Roughing-the-passer penalties. Yup, he's No. 1. He's also No. 1 in neutral-zone penalties on the pass rush. He's also No. 2 in overall defensive penalties."
Some pundits believe this decision will take on added importance after Antonio Pierce revealed the Patrick Mahomes rule. He discussed the idea during an interview with The Rush with Maxx Crosby.
"We've got what I'm calling now, from now on as long as I'm here, the Patrick Mahomes rules," Pierce said. "You remember when Jordan was going through it with the Pistons, all those guys in the '80s before he became Michael Jordan, Air Jordan, the Pistons used to whip his ---.Any time he came to the hole - elbows, feeling him, love taps. We're in his head, mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, I'm touching you. So I showed my guys Jordan getting his --- whooped."
#4 Las Vegas Golden Knights throttle the San Jose Sharks
The Las Vegas Golden Knights defeated the San Jose Sharks 7-3 on Saturday to improve to 6-2-2 this season. Las Vegas hit the gas pedal early in this one with three goals in the first period alone. San Jose never caught up and allowed three goals again in the third period to seal the deal. This means the Golden Knights are on a three-game winning streak!
Brett Howden led the way for the Golden Knights with two goals in three shot attempts against the Sharks. Pavel Dorofeyev, Mark Stone, Jack Eichel, William Karlsson, and Tanner Pearson also knocked in one goal each on Saturday. Another key contributor was Illya Samsonov, who only allowed three goals in 26 shots sent his way. This is good enough for a .885% save percentage and a 3-0 record as a starter. Las Vegas now moves on to face Calgary Flames Monday at 10 pm in hopes of improving to 7-2.

Those looking for cheaper prices might be out of luck.
#2 Kelsey Plum speaks out on WNBA collective bargaining agreement
The WNBPA is opting out of the collective bargaining agreement with the league after arguably their most successful season. The league broke several records in 2024, including 1.6 million viewers for game one of the finals. These numbers peaked at 3.3 million viewers, another major boost for the league.
Another example of growth is the Las Vegas Aces becoming the first team in history to sell out of season tickets! WNBPA Vice President Kelsey Plum says this isn't an overnight thing.
“This isn’t some sudden wake-up call," the Las Vegas Aces star said. "It’s the culmination of what we’ve been driving for over the last several seasons."We’ve played a key role in the league’s historic growth, and now we’re breaking free from the current system to demand full transparency and an equitable stake in the business we’ve helped build."

The
Las Vegas Raiders are now 2-6 following what has to be their most impressive showing of the entire season. It is worth noting that many were expecting the Raiders to get embarrassed in this matchup, but it never happened. Instead, Las Vegas went toe-to-toe with their divisional rival and almost won.
Gardner Minshew led the way with 24 of 30 passes for 209 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's game. He didn't turn the ball over once, another significant improvement for this team. The running game once again went nowhere for the Raiders, however, creating a one-dimensional offense. Las Vegas's leading rusher, Alexander Mattison, only managed 15 yards in 14 carries for his worst showing of the year.
The Chiefs scored first with a one-yard punch by Kareem Hunt that put them up by seven.
Usually, this is where the Las Vegas Raiders settle for their first field goal, but they surprised everyone with a seven-yard pass from Gardner Minshew to Jakobi Myers to tie the game. They then added insult to injury with a field goal to take a three-point lead on the defending Super Bowl Champions.
Patrick Mahomes responded to the lead change with a seven-yard pass to Travis Kelce for another score of their own in the second quarter. This and a field goal by Harrison Butker gave the Chiefs a 17-13 lead at halftime with a chance to run away with it. The Las Vegas Raiders never allowed this to materialize after holding the Chiefs scoreless in the third quarter and forcing one sack. They also tacked on another field goal to cut the lead by one.
Everything came down to the fourth quarter, where Harrison Butker hit a field goal from 24 yards out to make it 20-13 with only minutes left. Patrick Mahomes then drove the final stake through the Raiders with a seven-yard pass to Xavier Woods for another touchdown. The lead suddenly widened to 27-13, and the Raiders had no time to respond. Trevon Moehrig even intercepted a pass to get the Raiders a second chance, but they couldn't make it happen.
Minshew managed an 11-yard touchdown to DJ Turner late in the fourth quarter, and the defense tried to stop the Chiefs from milking the clock. This puts the Raiders 2-6 in 2024 while also giving them their third straight loss to a divisional opponent. They now move on to face the Cincinnati Bengals next Sunday at 1 pm EST.
