Las Vegas native Kurt Busch is currently having one of the most inconsistent seasons of his entire Cup Series career, and things only got worse last week at Darlington Raceway. In fact, the former Cup Series champion was" knicked" by Ricky Stenhouse Jr and sent straight into the outside retaining wall. His #1 Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet then broke a full line, resulting in the vehicle erupting in flames. Busch was able to bring the car to a park within seconds of it catching fire and got out unharmed.
Unfortunately for Busch, he also took a sizable hit in the points, which leaves him below the cutoff line if the playoffs were to start tomorrow. Furthermore, he is currently 20th in the standings and is unlikely to make the playoffs on points.
