#1 Las Vegas may get hosting duties for another big sporting event

Key point: The Super Bowl could be back before you know it Las Vegas hosted the Super Bowl for the first time in 2024 and might do it again soon. Rumors say Las Vegas is under consideration to host the 2029 Super Bowl. The other contender is Nissan Stadium in Nashville, which many thought would get the nod. Las Vegas is reportedly considered a tier-one venue by the NFL, however, giving it an advantage. According to Ben Fisher of the Sports Business Journal, several inside sources told him that the NFL wants to return to Las Vegas in the near future. The NFL is reportedly happy with the response they got last time and wants to try to replicate it. Forbes estimates that the 2024 Super Bowl generated an economic impact of over $1 billion. "A formal selection on this probably wouldn’t come before October or December, at the earliest," Fischer says in his article. "The NFL isn’t talking, and the number of people who truly know the league’s intentions at this preliminary date is small. But this development would be consistent with my prior reporting that Allegiant and SoFi Stadium in L.A. now sit alone on Tier 1 for Super Bowl hosting rights."
