Track #5: Around Town Medley: Shanghai Plaza, Palette Tea Lounge and Dim Sum

Attention pedestrians—life just became easier. (Image: Vegas 411)
Good news for folks visiting Chinatown which has become more walkable. Along busy Spring Mountain Rd near Arville St, a new crosswalk has appeared with push‑button-activated flashing lights. It’s designed to help folks safely cross the road between Shanghai Plaza and Chinatown Plaza (as well as the adjacent shopping centers).

This means, for example, you can dine at Shoo Loong Kan Hot Pot in Chinatown Plaza and then safely walk across the road to Shanghai Plaza which is filled with many restaurants and popular dessert spots, including Sweethoney Dessert and The Paleta Bar, the latter noted for its gourmet Mexican popsicles.

“Las Vegas Mixtape” has already raved about its favorite restaurants in Chinatown—there are over 250 to choose from—including ShangHai Taste, Xiao Long Dumplings, Lamaii (Thai), and A Different Beast (Spanish tapas). Another eatery not to miss is the Northern California-originated Palette Tea Lounge & Dim Sum, an elegant, colorful place where the dishes are creative, zesty, and memorable. Try—as my family and I did—the rainbow shrimp dumplings, pan seared black pepper wagyu beef bao bun, lobster dumplings, wagyu beef chow fun, and asparagus and mushroom, which is truly a vegan showstopper.
